Enjoying live jazz music on the shores of Suisun Marina with the cool breezes from the Suisun Marsh is a fantastic way to spend a lazy summer Sunday afternoon.  Bring your family, friends or church group to the Waterfront District for an afternoon of great music and picnicking!

Fresh off finishing "Round the Korner," featuring a combination of hard bop and hot funk, Delbert Bump returns to the Waterfront Jazz Series.

As a performing artist, jazz educator and recording artist Delbert Bump has acquired the reputation as one of the leading Bay Area musicians. Primarily as a band leader of a number of different ensembles this talented artist has been influenced by all the great jazz pianists, organists and composers all across the specter of this original American art form.

As a band leader and major contributor to the jazz literature, Bump has played with such notables as John Handy, Eddie Henderson, Lee Konitz, Oliver Nelson, Jamie Davis, Mike Clark, Paul Jackson, Steve Homan, Greg Handy, Joe Morello and many others of jazz fame. He has also studied composition with Roger Nixon, Herb Harrison, Sammy Nestico and Bob Florence. As a jazz educator Bump has helped to shape many talented careers.

Bump has received numerous honors and awards and has produced and arranged music for a variety of singers and bands including film and television work. His primary output has been the production of more than 15 recording projects, which include solo piano, piano trios, organ trios, jazz in small ensemble groups, Latin jazz ensembles, big band compositions, concert band pieces and orchestral works. ~ borrowed from the Napa Valley Register
